The World as Will and Representation (WWR; German: Die Welt
als Wille und Vorstellung, WWV) is the focal work of the German savant Arthur
Schopenhauer. The main version was distributed in 1818/19, the second extended
release in 1844, and the third extended release in 1859. In 1948, a condensed
rendition was altered by Thomas Mann.
In the English dialect, this work is known under three
distinct titles. Albeit English distributions about Schopenhauer assumed a part
in the recognition[who?] of his fame[who?] as a scholar in later life (1851 until
his passing in 1860) and a three volume interpretation by R. B. Haldane and J.
Kemp, titled The World as Will and Idea, showed up as of now in 1883– 1886, the
principal English interpretation of the extended release of this work under
this title The World as Will and Representation showed up by E. F. J. Payne
(who likewise deciphered a few different works of Schopenhauer) as late as in
1958 (soft cover releases in 1966 and 1969). A later English interpretation by
Richard E. Aquila in a joint effort with David Carus is titled The World as Will
and Presentation (2008).
